I created this site because no self-respecting 30-year old man should be using Instagram, Twitter, etc. It’s time to grow up and rent a web-server and buy a domain like an adult. Not really, but I believe that security and privacy concerns aside, these apps allow one to be programmed by their various slot-machine feed algorithms. While it’s common to think that just happens to boomers, I’ve seen it happen to my peers as well (never to myself though, obviously).
This site is my attempt to condense my web presence to platforms which I maintain as much control over as possible. As such, this site collects no data about your location, your device, or any other particulars. I also don’t bloat it with unnecessary Javascript or cookies, and have no plans to do so in the future. My vision for this site is to recreate the websites of the early 2000s, which, although a bit amateur in presentation, came with a personal touch that is missing from the internet today.
The name of this site comes from the powder towers in medieval European towns, where gunpowder was stored. The most famous of which today is in Prague. It doesn’t mean anything, I just thought it was a cool name, and one unlikely to be used as a domain name already.
