I suppose I owe my visitors an explanation for why I have not updated this in a while. The truth is that I have been hanging my head in shame over the poor results I’ve seen from my hydroponic garden. I planted a whole host of delicous herbs with the pods and Ph solution I got from Aerogarden, and despite some initial success, all but my Italian Parsley has died.
I purchased some Ph testing strips this week and found that my pH level was between 6 & 8, which is on the high end. I don’t know that this would kill the herbs, but it likely contributed.
I suspect that I have the lights mounted too high up, causing the stems to grow too quickly to support their weight. I will need to rig up some kind of pulley system to raise and lower the lights to accomodate the plants. However, this will need to wait until after the holidays, as I must think of others right now.
