Big development in the garden today, as my largest tomato plant has fruit that is so close to ripening that I can almost taste it.
I pruned this plant a few days ago, as it was becoming too big for the trellis that’s holding it up. Besides the structural benefits, it had the added bonus of speeding up the ripening process, as there was now much less plant matter eating up water and sunlight.
There’s still a bit to go before I can eat these, but I’m confident I can get them off this vine and onto a sandwich or into a sauce soon.
